We're in the first few weeks of one of our favorite season here in New Orleans; Mardi Gras Season! (The other four seasons following MG Season are Crawfish Season, Festival Season, Please Kill Me It's So Darn Hot Season, and Christmas Season) Anyway, we have big plans for February:
Krewe du Vieux and Krewe Delusion – February 16th
Starting at 6pm on Saturday, February 16th we will be celebrating Krewe du Vieux and Krewe Delusion as they kick off the major parade season. Both parades will pass right by Royal Frenchmen Hotel and Bar and we will be ready to party! Neither of these parades are child friendly so you might want to get a baby sitter for the kiddos and enjoy a decidedly adult night out. We will have three bars including a very cool Absinthe Bar presented by the Elephant Collective, a DJ in the Courtyard (with a courtyard bar), Performance Artists mingling about and even Burlesque Dancers! Will be a fun and crazy kind of night. The event is FREE and Open to the Public. We'll have great drink specials and some inexpensive small bites available.
Diane Milsapp Art Show / Meet and Greet
Come out from 6-8 pm on Friday, February 15th to meet acclaimed artist Diane Milsapp. Diane will have a meet and greet with visitors and there will be complimentary wine and cheese. We will even be raffling off a ready-to-hang Original Artwork with benefits going to Boy's Town. For more information on the amazing art of Diane Milsapp, click here.
#BoycottBowl Party
February 3rd will not be our favorite day but, as usual, we will make the most of it. As everyone in the entire free world knows and agrees, the Saints were completely robbed in the NFC Championship and will not be playing in the Bowl Which Will Not Be Named. In a show of solidarity with the Who Dat Nation, we will also darken our monitors and skip the game (although we might show the Puppy Bowl!). So instead of boring faux-ball bowls, we'll be featuring an extra three hours of the two things most dear to New Orleanians hearts: Live local music and $3 Martinis all night. Hope to see everyone here!
Even More Parades
Saturday, February 9th the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus will be passing by our hotel about 8pm. Come join us for some Star Wars themed drink specials and a perfect spot to view the festivites.
Friday, February 15th we have the Krewe of Boheme and their inaugural parade passing by the hotel, again, at aboUT 8 pm. Stop by and watch this upstart group's parade while enjoying the art of Diane Milsapp in our lobby.
So, we're pretty excited about February! Mardi Gras isn't until March 5th so plenty of time to enjoy. Happy Mardi Gras!
