Diane Millsap’s distinctive and colorful palette practically shouts New Orleans.  While other famous New Orleans artists such as Terrance Osborne, George Rodrigue and Varion Laurent had the good fortune of Louisiana roots and growing up steeped in the culture and soul of the city, Diane developed a style and distinctive New Orleans feel as an outsider. 

A mid-west native and current resident of rural Illinois, Diane and her husband Darrell long ago adopted New Orleans and her paintings can now be found everywhere from fine art galleries to wayfair.com. Diane has a distinctive and vibrant color scheme making her art instantly recognizable and popular.

Diane will be greeting guests at her upcoming Art Opening on February 15th at the Royal Frenchmen Hotel and Bar at 700 Frenchmen Street from six until eight pm.  The Royal Frenchmen Hotel is a work of art in and of itself.  A beautifully restored creole mansion which won a prestigious historical renovation award in 2017, the hotel is owned by noted art collector Hugh Stiel and both public spaces and guest rooms are decorated with amazing and eclectic art including one of the largest displays of Vladimir Kush originals in America.

The Diane Millsap Art Show, which is free and open to the public, will feature complimentary wine and appetizers along with a chance to meet Diane.  She has also generously donated an original oil on canvas painting which will be raffled off with the benefits going to Boys Town of Louisiana.  Boys Town was the last occupant of the 700 Frenchmen St location but moved after Hurricane Katrina.
